Includes transcriptions of the Mayflower Compact (1620), and the compacts of three towns in Rhode Island: Providence (ca. 1638), Portsmouth (1638) and Newport (1639). Author discusses the historical importance of the compacts. Includes lists of names of those who signed the documents.
